Heya everybody,
Nice to see people using the boards already. I was a regular at NGFL, my screen name was "LIFE_IN_2D".
Well, like most people I saw Neo-Geo games as a kid and fell in love with Fatal Fury 2 and Samuai Shodown 2. Big Reds were often seen in convenience stores and pizza joints, in the USA. I remember loving how colorful the games were and how they showed blood during matches.
As a 20-something in college I saw a Neo-Geo again in my University arcade. I had not even thought about these games for years. This led me to download emulators, join NGFL and eventually start collecting. Actually... it was a kind member, Supergrafx from NGFL who gifted me my first AES with 3 games that started me on my collecting. At the time I was too poor to start my collection and that was a dream come true. I still have the system and games he gave me along with some other AES games I bought. Thank you man!
These days, I don't game as much. I do not collect Neo anymore, as prices are insane. Recently I bought a Neo SD Pro MVS cart which I usually play. I still have a few of my favorite MVS games ( about 50 or so) that I play with my CMVS I also have a small Neo Geo pocket collection. I hardly play my games much anymore but I would never sell them, as I would regret it and I would never be able to afford buying them back with today's market prices.
That's enough BS about me. I am happy that Merlin and Riko and others have revived the community. I look forward to reconnecting with old NGFL and new members as well.
