How To Add An Image Or Photo To Your Post
Tip : It's a good idea to make sure your image isn't too big (to save space and to make pages on the forum load faster). So 1Mb is a good maximum size for an image. But less is better!
There are two ways to display an image with your post:
1. Upload the image as an Attachment (MAX SIZE 1Mb). This is the quickest and easiest way but you don't have control over the way the image displays (e.g. the size it displays at) and it also takes up storage space on the website. So if you are going to be posting more than a few images please use option no. 2 below.
2. Use an Image Host site. THE BEST WAY! Create an account with a Image Host site such as Imgur, PostImage, Flickr etc. Then simply upload your image(s) to your account. Copy (Ctrl-c) the Direct Link of your image (this will end in an image extension such as .jpg or .png)
Now select "Advanced Reply" (on the top right of the Reply box) Go to where you want your image to appear in your post. And click the Image button (pointed to by the blue arrow in the example below). And Paste (Ctrl-v) the Direct Link into "Image URL :" in the request box.
Which looks like this when it is posted:
That's it! Remember you can check how your image appears at any time by using the "Preview" option before posting
Changing the Size Of Your Image
You can make your image smaller (if it is too big) by doing the following.
-Click "Preview"
-Click "BBCode" (This 2 step process updates the BBCode with the size information - if it's not already there)
- Locate the text "min-width:100%;" and change the percentage to a lower one. e.g. 50% will shrink the image by half.
Again you can check how you image appears by clicking "Preview" at any time
Your image should now appear at half it's original size :
Putting 2 Or More Images Side By Side
-Make sure your reply window is set to BBCODE (click the BBCode tab)
-Then simply put the images you want to display on the same line
Please note : Any images that can't fit into the current screen width will be pushed onto the next line
3. Adding Some Space Between Images Displayed Next To Each Other
To add space to the right of an image : Add "padding-right:10px;" to the style="" section in the BBCode display.
"px" denotes a pixel gap. (here it is set to 10 pixels) Any image you put to the right of this image will now display after the number of pixels space you have specified.
Your two images should now have a 10 pixel gap between them :
Centering an image
-Select your image (Easiest in the BBCODE display. Make sure you include the [img] and [/img] tags in your selection)
- Then choose Center Justify (see the blue arrow in the screenshot)
Your Image will now be centered
Displaying a Tweet
1. Go to Twitter and copy the link for the Tweet you want to display
Make sure you are in Advanced Reply mode
Click the "</>" button on the far right of the icon bar and select the "Twitter bird" symbol - shown in the screenshot below
Paste your link into the request box and the BBCode to display your Tweet should display like below
When you make your post the Tweet will be loaded from Twitter and displayed like this:
