Hey guys
Have you got any favorite YouTube channels or specific YouTubers out there? No matter if gaming-related or not, anything goes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My favorite gaming-related channel used to be Cinnemassacre, a.k.a. James Rolfe in his role as the Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN). So far he made about 200 episodes in his role as the nerd, and most retro gamers may already be familiar with his videos. They are basically basic reviews of 8-Bit or 16-Bit games that have in common that they are either straight-out bad or nerve-wracking.
While his newer episodes aren't really all that good, I found his older videos absolutely hilarious and well-made. He made all the video editing and effects by himself and sometimes went totally overboard with his ideas.
The ones I liked best was when he used to review not only individual games, but also popular franchises such as TMNT, Batman, Ghostbusters or the Terminator series. I used to laugh tears back in the past. 😂
My favorite non-gaming-related channel must be Bald & Bankrupt. B&B is a British guy (who indeed is bald and apparently got bankrupted once) called Benjamin Rich, but also goes by the name Mr. Bald.
He became super famous like in the last two or three years, and already has millions of viewers and subscribers. He basically makes simple but hilarious videos about travelling to obscure places, many of those based in countries of the former Soviet Union.
He is known for travelling by very simple means (hitchhiking or walking around with only the most basic luggage and equipment) and for his extremely empathetic and extroverted manners when he confronts the locals. On top of that he is also quite good in speaking Russian, which often introduces him to funny and legendary characters.
No matter how shitty the situation gets, he always remains in good mood and never loses his good sense of humor. At times he also shows the darker sides of people living in difficult situations and how they get by their daily lives.
It's often quite entertaining and hilarious content, but at times also heart-warming and sobering. It's a channel I can wholeheartedly recommend, no matter if you like travel or not.
My favorite videos, which sometimes have been indeed an inspiration and even template for my own trips, are definitely his vlogs about countries of the former Soviet Union such as Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and others. They are mostly an absolute treasure trove.
